Assynt is situated amongst some of the wildest and most remote scenery in the Highlands, the population is concentrated in small crofting communities, the majority of which lie along the rugged coastline, north or south of Lochinver

Plockton Community

The village of Plockton, in an incomparable location on a sheltered bay of Loch Carron, surrounded by a bowl of hills.


This site offers a window into the various creative and commercial activities associated with the community on Scoraig peninsula

Skye and Lochalsh

Here the stark rise of the jagged Cuillin ridge drops to the gentle white of a soft sand beach. Inlets, bays and islands create a complex lacework pattern with the sea.

Tain Community Website

The Royal Burgh of Tain, with its ancient history and wonderful wildlife, is a town waiting to be discovered. Tain is a small but thriving town with a population of around 3,500.
