Highland Wellbeing Alliance Equality and Diversity Strategy Group

The 2024/07 community plan commits Alliance partners to the development of a strategy that will ensure that equality and diversity are promoted and valued within Highland. An Equality and Diversity Strategy Group has been established to explore the potential for joint working in areas that will add value to the work of individual agencies to meet their statutory responsibilities and promote equality of opportunity.

The group has progressed a number of key activities which include the development of a strategic partnership framework, improving access to interpretation and translation services in Highland, and collaborating on the on the consultation and involvement of disabled people to feed into the preparation of each agency’s Disability Equality Scheme. During 2024 the focus of work for this group will be to consult on the draft framework with relevant communities and groups as well as within partner agencies, develop an action plan and a robust monitoring framework, and work together on the consultation element of each agency’s Gender Equality Scheme.
