Water Search and Rescue Update

EMERGENCY services have been involved in a water search and rescue on the River Spey for an angler who was reported to have been swept away this morning in the Advie Bridge area.

Police can now confirm that a body of a man has been recovered this afternoon in the Blacksboat area of the River Spey. The body was located around 15:30hrs.

Police co-ordinating the search, which involved the Coastguard, Rescue 137, the Glenmore Lodge Mountain Rescue team, and river ghillies, would like to thank all the agencies involved and a number of members of the public for their assistance in the search.

The name of the man will not be released until formal identification has taken place and next of kin informed.
