Mountain Rescue - Cairngorm

AT around 1.55pm today a 999 call was made requesting assistance for two female climbers in the Coire An't Sneachda area of Cairngorm.

The two females, one of whom made the emergency call for assistance, fell during a walk in the goat track area.

Both sustained serious injuries and have been airlifted by Rescue 137 to Raigmore Hospital, Inverness for treatment.

There is no further update on their conditions at this time.

It's understood two members of the Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team, who were in the area at the time, were taken to the area where the casualties were situated by Rescue 137.

They offered assistance to the females until they could be winched to safety.

A further update will be issued when details become available.
