Women's Aid charity receives welcome donation from Highland Council

A charity that provides support for women who are affected by domestic abuse has received a welcome donation this week from The Highland Council.

Ross-shire Women's Aid was presented with a flat screen TV from the Council's Housing Service via local Highland Councillors Peter Cairns, Angela MacLean and Margaret Paterson.

Ross-shire Women's Aid provides services in the Ross-shire, Skye and Lochalsh area including: one to one support by phone, text or in person; group support; information on rights; advocacy; and safe accommodation.

Accepting the TV from local Highland Council members at Ross, House in Dingwall, Jacky Swan of Ross-shire Women's Aid said: "We are very grateful to the Council for this kind donation which we intend to put to good use in our safe accommodation."

The TV had previously been on display in one of the Highland Council's show homes at the Housing EXPO.
