Tain and Easter Ross Forum focuses on planning

Tain and Easter Ross residents are invited to a Ward Forum being held on Thursday 28 October to hear about The Highland Council's role in planning.

The Forum is being held in the Fearn Village Hall, Hill of Fearn, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm with a 20-minute slot allocated at the end of the meeting for questions from the public. Teas and coffees, hosted by the Fearn Community Council, will be available from 7pm to 7.30pm.

Malcolm MacLeod, The Highland Council Development Plans Manager, will be attending to give an overview of the Planning Service provided by the Council and explain how the system works; how local councillors are involved; what delegated authority is; when applications go to Council; and what community benefit and planning gain is.

Malcolm will also be giving a short update on progress with the Highland wide Local Development Plan.

Every Community Council in the Tain and Easter Ross Ward and other representative community organisations are members of the Ward Forum and have the opportunity to feed the views of their community into the subjects being discussed.
