Shennachie stroll with Council Ranger

Issued: 15 Jun 2010

Highland Council Countryside Ranger John Orr is leading a guided walk to Shennachie on the River Findhorn on Sunday 20th June, 11am - 3pm.

John Commented "This walk takes us up Tom na Slaite above the river at 426m then back down to the ruined croft at Shennachie at the river's edge. The hill gives great views along the Findhorn with spectacular glacial scenery and a wealth of wildlife all of which has connections with the upper reaches of the river."

The walk is 5km or 3 miles and is can be steep in places. Participation costs £5 for adults and £3 for children and concessions. Please bring walking boots, waterproofs and some lunch. Children must be accompanied by an adult. For more information and to book a place please phone the rangers on 01463 702932.

The aim of the Highland Council Countryside Rangers is to promote public enjoyment and appreciation of the countryside and to conserve wildlife.
