Fairtrade Friday at Kirkhill Primary

Issued: 2 Nov 2024

The Fantastic Fairtraders is the name of the recently formed group of P5 and P6 pupils from Kirkhill Primary School who are busy working on a Fairtrade enterprise project.

Holding roles as Director, Stock Controller, Accountant, Activity Organiser, Marketing Manager and Charity Organiser, the creative kids have set up their own enterprise company and now plan to sell a selection of Fairtrade products to their fellow pupils every Friday.

The first Friday Fairtrade event starts with a grand opening this week on 5th November at 10.30am.

Head Teacher Christine Ford said: "The team have been working very hard and have organised everything from the stock buying to the advertising
and promotion of the grand opening. On Friday they will set up their stall and deal with all the sales as well as take the opportunity to raise awareness about Fairtrade to the other children. The whole school is excited to see the range of products and I am sure it will become something pupils and staff look forward to each week."
