Update - Fatal Road Traffic Collision - A9 near Dalwhinnie

The two deceased persons - a 50 year old male and a 44 year old female - were passengers in a southbound Peugeot motor car.

The driver and two other passengers from this Peugeot car have been detained in Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, with serious (but not life-threatening) injuries.

All occupants of a northbound Ford Transit Camper van, were also taken to Raigmore Hospital, Inverness. The driver was uninjured but four passengers were treated for minor injuries and released thereafter.

Details of the deceased will be released once formal identification has been completed and next-of-kin informed.

Enquiries are continuing into the circumstances surrounding this collision and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal, Inverness, in due course.
