Road Traffic Collision - A9 at Evanton

At around 0730 this morning a two vehicle road collision happened on the A9 Inverness to Thurso road at its junction with the Southern entrance to Evanton involving a Renault van and a Toyota Corolla.

As a result of the collision two female drivers were taken to A&E, Raigmore, Inverness with minor injuries.

A young child in the rear of the Toyota Corolla was examined by Paramedics at the scene and was found to be be uninjured.

Whilst dealing with this initial road collision long tailbacks developed north and south of the incident. Then at around 0830 a second collision was reported, approx one mile north of the initial collision.

This incident involved a Nissan Micra and a Vauxhall Corsa. One passenger from the Micra was taken to Invergordon County Hospital with minor injuries again as a precautionary measure.

The road was not blocked on this occasion and traffic flowed freely.

Police would like to thank motorists for their patience during these accidents, whilst having to wait in tailbacks.
