Mountain Rescue - Torridon

Issued: 11 Feb 2024

In relation to the search and rescue incident in the Torridon area, both male persons were traced safe and well and the operation has been stood down with all mountain rescue personnel off the mountain.

Both men are uninjured and initial enquiries suggest that due to a combination of poor weather and the loss of light, they decided to take shelter for the night and continue their descent in daylight and on the improvement of the weather.

As suggested, both men were experienced, well equipped and they appear to have made the correct decision in the circumstances.

Their details are not being divulged at present.
