Mountain Rescue - Coire Na Ciste

About 1340 hours on Saturday 3 March 2024, Police were made aware, via a mobile telephone call, that a 32 year old male had taken ill whilst climbing in the Coire Na Ciste area of Ben Nevis.

Seventeen members of Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team attended and with the assistance of a Navy Rescue Helicopter from Prestwick, R177, located the male and airlifted him to saftey. The male was thereafter conveyed to the Belford Hospital, Fort William where he was released following treatment.

Details of the casualty have not yet been obtained.
