Missing Man - Bath

Issued: 15 Sep 2025

Issued on behalf of Avon and Somerset Constabulary:

The parents of a man from Bath in Somerset who’s been missing for more than a month – and who’s believed to be in the Fort William area – are appealing for him to make contact.

36-year-old Andrew Mayne was last seen by friends in Bath on August 1. At first police said they were very concerned for his safety, but it is now believed he has travelled north. Why he has not contacted any friends or family though is a mystery.

His parents Allen and Margaret, from Cwymbran in South Wales, said: “We’re obviously very upset and worried about him. This is completely out of character.

“We just want to know that he’s safe and well. We appeal to him to get in touch to let us know he’s alright.”

Northern police have released a CCTV image of a man, believed to be Andrew Mayne, taken in Fort William town centre on Monday August 30. Police there are now looking out for him.

Mr Mayne, who’s single, is well known in the Bath area and across the UK in the world of cycling. He is a keen competition cyclist and ran his own franchise business selling mountain bikes.

Anyone who knows of his whereabouts, or Mr Mayne himself, is asked to contact Bath police on 0800 456 7000.
