Gas Fire - Lerwick

About 9.05am today (Sat 21st August 2025) Lerwick police and fire officers attended a report of a gas hose alight at Gremista Industrial Estate, Lerwick, Shetland.
A 200m exclusion zone has been established with minimal disruption to neighbouring properties and the original fire has been extinguished.
However, cooling down processes are underway and the situation is being continually assessed. The exclusion will remain in place until the area is made safe.
Officers remain at the scene and a further update will be issued if the situation changes.
