Fire - Kettletoft, Sanday - Update

THE fire which has affected 3 buildings, a shop, a garage and a recyclying centre, in Kettletoft, Sanday, has been brought under control.
22 people were evacuated in the early hours of the morning from 7 properties in the area.
Due to the fuel and oxy acetylene involved the cordon will remain in place for a cooling period to ensure the area is completely safe. This may be 24 hours, but will be continually assessed by Fire and Police.
A 52 year-old man has been detained in connection with the incident.
A report will be made to the Procurator Fiscal.
