Fatal Road Collision

At 1832 hours today - Saturday 27 January 2024 - a telephone call was received at Fort William Police Station from a member of the public who reported that a road accident had just occurred on the A82 Ballachulish to Glencoe road, at its junction with the the Tigh Phuirst access road at Glencoe.

On attendance by the emergency services, it was established that an elderly male, who had been walking at the above locus, had been knocked down by a car and sustained fatal injuries.

The A82 has been closed since the time of the accident to facilitate collision investigations. A diversion exists using the B863 Kinlochleven road.

No further details available at this stage as enquiries are ongoing and next of kin have yet to be notified.

It is not anticipated that there will be any further releases on this matter until tomorrow (28/1/7) at the earliest.
