Fatal Road Collision

About 1140 hours today - Saturday, 27 January, 2024 - a two vehicle fatal road collision occured on the A82 Inverness to Fort William road, just north of the Clansman Hotel, near Abriachan. The vehicles involved were Citroen and Vauxhall Vectra motor cars.
As a result of this accident, the female front seat passenger of the Citroen car sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A full collision investigation was carried out - which neccessitated the road being closed for approximately five hours to facilitate this - and enquiries are continuing.
The deceased female is a foreign national and no further details regarding her will be released until all next of kin have been informed.
