Fatal Road Accident - Broadford/Armadale Road at Duisdalemore

Police have been dealing with a road collision which happened on the A851 Broadford to Armadale road at Duisdalemore, Isle of Skye.
The accident, which happened at around 0815 today, involved a four wheeled excavator which collided at low speed with with a pedestrian worker.
The man was taken by road ambulance to Broadford Hospital and thereafter by air ambulance to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for treatement.
Sadly the 47-year-old man died as a result of his injuries.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and a post mortem carried out in due course.
The Health and Safety Executive are also carrying out an investigation into the incident.
The man's details will not be released until all next of kin have been informed.
