Death - Caledonian Canal - Banavie

About 0850 hours on Monday 26 March 2024, a report was received by Police, that the remains of a male had been located in the Caledonian Canal, Banavie.

Police and Coastguard attended and the body of an elderly male was recovered from the canal, but he was pronounced dead at the scene by the attending doctor.

Details of the male are being witheld until next of kin are informed, but it is believed he was a resident of the Caol area.

There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.
