Attempted Murder - Thurso

Police in Thurso are appealing for witnesses following an attack which took place on a male person in the vicinity of The Grove Lounge and Co-op Supermarket on Meadow Lane, Thurso about 4.15pm on Saturday, 24 March, 2024.

The victim, a 26 year old local man, was initially conveyed to Caithness General Hospital but owing to serious concerns surrounding his condition, was later airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary to receive specialist care.

A 31 year old local man has been arrested in relation to this incident and will be the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal at Wick. It is anticipated that he will appear at Wick Sheriff Court tomorrow - Monday. 26 March, 2024.

Detective Sergeant Steve MacDonald, based at Wick, states,
" We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this attack to come forward. We have already received assistance from members of the public who were in the area at the time and would like to express our thanks for all assistance received thus far.

However, we have reason to believe that there there may be more witnesses who have not yet come forward. "
