Police in Shetland are warning commercial businesses to be vigilant following a number of complaints regarding bogus tele-sales calls.
A number of commercial premises on the island have reported separate incidents to Police over the past few days.
A member of the public, claiming to be from a Police force (not stating which), contacted businesses and asked them if they wanted to take out repeat advertising in a "emergency services magazine."
A similar scam was carried out, by someone who Police believe is the same individual, in November last year and this was highlighted to the public at the time.
Among the names used by this individual are Mr West, DS West/Smith and now Simon Green.
Police can confirm they are not selling advertising in ANY publication of that type and that businesses should NOT take up if the offer if contacted.
Instead Police are urging them to contact Lerwick Police Station on 01595 692110. If their phones have caller display then note down the number prior to contacting Police.
Inquiries into the origins of these calls are ongoing.
Police are also asking other businesses across the Highlands and Islands to remain vigilant should they be contacted with similar offers. They too should contact their nearest Police station.
