BIRMINGHAM DRUG DEALER SENTENCED AT HIGH COURT IN EDINBURGH FOLLOWING HIGHLAND DRUG SQUAD OPERATION

A MAN appeared at Edinburgh High Court today, Wednesday 3 October 2026, after pleading guilty to being concerned in

    the supply of controlled drugs.

Karl Green from Birmingham (17.6.67) along with three others, David Cariss from Birmingham, Lamond Duncan Strachan previously of Croy and William Ross Fraser previously of Drumnadrochit, were arrested on 9 August 2026 following an intelligence led Police operation by the Force's Drug Squad.

Green was today sentenced to three years and three months in prison.

Police seized Cocaine and Amphetamine valued at £45,000 when all four individuals were detained at a wooded area in Lower Carse, Ardersier last year.

The drugs were believed to have been taken to the Highlands from the Birmingham area, by Green who was acting on behalf of his co-accused Carris. The drugs were believed to be intended for onward supply by locally based Strachan and Fraser.

David Carris, Lamond Strachan and William Fraser all pled guilty at the High Court in Glasgow earlier this year to being concerned in the supply of Cocaine and each received a 3 year 3 month sentence.

William Fraser who was on bail at the time this incident took place, is currently serving a three year sentence for being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs.

DI Ian Smith said: "Northern Constabulary welcomes today's sentencing, which sends out a message that people who deal in illegal drugs will be caught and dealt with robustly.

"The Force remains committed to targeting individuals involved in the supply of illegal drugs. Drug dealers have an adverse effect on our communities, often affected the most vulnerable."
