Members of the public are being advised that inspections will be carried out on the Council's Area Office at Market Square, Wick during the week beginning Monday 5th March.

Part of a window lintel at the rear of the building fell to the ground on Thursday afternoon (1st March), and an urgent assessment of other lintels has been instructed. No one was in the vicinity at the time.

Ian Hargrave, Highland Council's Caithness Area Manager said: "As a precautionary measure, we are erecting a covered walkway to allow members of staff to use the rear door of the offices. There should be no effect on public access to the front of the building, or to service delivery."
