Fire Safety

Fire and Rescue Safety

Fires and accidents do happen, whether in the work place or at home. The rescue services are there to do everything they possibly can to assist in the case of emergencies.

However, prevention in the first place and, in the case of a fire knowing how to alert the emergency services and possibly tackle it yourself can save valuable time. This element of the project will provide a Community Safety Advocacy Officer who will be able to support businesses with fire prevention presentations, attend community events and develop a range of materials in other languages that can be utilised at emergency scenes.

Highlands and Islands Fire Rescue Service (HIFRS) are managing this strand of the project and are in the process of recruiting a full time member of staff.

The key contacts for this project are:

HIRFS and the Citizens Advice Bureau will be running a series of joint roadshow events throughout the area to provide information. We will update the website with these dates once they become available.
