    Update 2 - Mountain Rescue - Coire Na Ciste, Ben Nevis

    Police can confirm that mountain rescue teams searching for a second person, believed to have been involved in an avalanche at Coire na Ciste, Ben Nevis, have recovered a second body.

    A member of the public reported that two people had been caught up in a large avalanche, several hundred metres in length, earlier today and a full scale rescue operation was initiated.

    The area where the bodies were recovered is known at No 3 Gulley on the North Face of Ben Nevis.

    At this time we do not have information regarding the age or sex of the individuals and formal identification will take place once next of kin have been informed.

    A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.
