Police seize heroin in Shetland

POLICE in Shetland have seized a significant quantity of drugs.

On 12th October 2024, police officers searched a house in Lerwick where significant quantities of heroin were seized amounting to a potential street value of £11000. An occupant of the house, a 26 year old man, has been arrested and remains in police custody. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

These seizures are as a result of determined action from the police to act on information provided by the public. The disruption of drugs misuse and supply on Shetland continues and can only progress with support and information provided by the community.
