Update on Town House clean-up

Issued: 8 Sep 2024

The public are advised that essential maintenance works to the guttering and turrets on the roof of Inverness Town House which were previously planned for 8 and 9 September will now take place on Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 September.

During this period, scaffolding will be erected around the building affecting pedestrian movements, but access to the Town House will be maintained during normal office hours - 9am to 5pm.

For the health and safety of the public, it will be necessary to impose restrictions to pedestrian access and the public is asked to heed and observe any diversion signs.

David Haas, The Highland Council's Inverness City Manager, said: "We
apologise for any inconvenience caused to the public by the scaffolding
erected around the Town House. For the health and safety of the workers
and the public it is a necessity to have it in place for the short
duration of the works.

"The works have been postponed for a week so as not to affect the
proceedings of the Kirking of the Council which takes place this Sunday
12 September."
