New Corporate Manager for Ross Skye and Lochaber

Issued: 3 Apr 2007

The Highland Council has appointed a new Corporate Manager for Ross Skye and Lochaber. He is Bob Cameron, Area Manager for Ross and Cromarty.

Mr Cameron was educated at Lochaber High School and the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee, before joining the Planning Department of the former Highland Regional Council in August 1977. He was appointed Area Planning and Building Control Manager for Nairn and Badenoch and Strathspey in April 1996 and Area Manager for Ross and Cromarty in March 2005.

He is married with two children.

Mr Cameron is one of three Corporate Managers appointed by the Council. Ian Hargrave, Area Manager for Caithness, has been appointed Corporate Manager for Caithness Sutherland and Easter Ross. William Gilfillan, Area Manager for Nairn as well as Badenoch and Strathspey, has been appointed Corporate Manager for Inverness Nairn and Badenoch and Strathspey.

The Council has agreed to move from eight Council areas to three operational management areas and Council Services are reorganising management arrangements to reflect these new area boundaries.

The Corporate Managers will be the lead officers in the new operational areas and will ensure the efficient administration and delivery of services within their area, reporting to the Chief Executive.
