EMERGENCY services are attending a serious road traffic collision on the A9 at the Slochd involving 2 vehicles and reports of a number of fatalities.
The incident was reported at 15:15 this afternoon.
The road will be closed for several hours and traffic diversions are in place South via the A96 to Nairn, the A939 Grantown on Spey Road and then A95 to Granish. Drivers are advised to avoid the area if at all possible.
Traffic is currently very heavy in the area and drivers are being advised to drive with extreme care at slower speeds.
