On the 20th November 2006, Andrew William Murray, 42 years, Hill View, Blackdyke, Urray, Muir of Ord, pled guilty to charges of being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs, namely Cannabis.
He was sentenced to 220 hours Community Service. This followed his house being searched by Police in Dingwall on 15th September 2005.
Today at Inverness Sheriff Court, following on from this case, Murray had a total of £37,000 confiscated under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
Detective Inspector Gus MacPherson, stationed at Dingwall, commented "What is particularly interesting is that on this occasion we seized a relatively small quantity of Cannabis. The Proceeds of Crime Act is a powerful piece of legislation and the message is quite clear that if you are involved in dealing in drugs and are benefiting financially we will come after your money."
