In the early hours of Friday 25th July 2008 Police at Fort William were notified that two persons had become disorientated and confused whilst climbing on the North East Buttress, Ben Nevis . Lochaber Mountain Rescue team were contacted and 7 members attended. The male and female climbers were escorted by the team to the top of the buttress where they were airlifted by an RAF Search and Rescue helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth, R137 to Glen Nevis. They were uninjured.
About 1230 hours on Friday 25th July 2008 Police at Fort William were informed that a 64 year old male had suffered a knee injury whilst walking up Ben Nevis. An RAF Search and Rescue helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth, R137 attended and airlifted the male to Glen Nevis where he was taken to the Belford Hospital, Fort William as a precaution. The male was treated for a minor knee injury.
