Police were called to an address in the Crown area of Inverness following concerns raised by a member of the public. The area was cordoned off and a police containment put in place with a number of residents being evacuated from their homes. All emergency services attended, assisted by Transco before the premises were forcibly entered and a 44 year old male removed.
Acting Chief Inspector Gough said, "The primary concern was for the male person within the house, the safety of neighbouring residents and the emergency service personnel. We tried to keep the disruption to a minimum but a number of residents had to be evacuated for their own safety, and I thank them for their patience and understanding."
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
