Road Restrictions for Highland Lights Event

To create a safe arena for the Highland Lights event that takes place on Saturday 12 January in Inverness, a number of traffic restrictions will be put in place.

The following city roads will be closed:

  • Huntly Street from 2pm to 10pm
  • A 450 metre coast stretch of Longman Drive between the junction at the Inverness Courier office and the junction before the coastguard office from 5pm to 10pm.
  • Waterloo Bridge from 6pm to 9pm
  • The procession route along Huntly Street, Gilbert Street, Waterloo Place, Portland Place, Shore Street, Cromwell Road, Longman Drive (Viewing Area) from 6pm to 9pm.

There will be reduced access for cyclists, pedestrians and motorists on Kessock Bridge from 8am on Wednesday 9 January until 4pm on Sunday 13 January. The bridge will be closed to all traffic in both directions on Saturday the 12 from 7.30pm to 9.30 pm. There will be no passage to vessels under the bridge between 8pm to 9pm.

Traffic diversions will be put in place, and drivers should allow sufficient time for travel.
