The P7 class at Cromarty Primary have begun an Urban Tree survey with the help of The Highland Council's Easter Ross Countryside Ranger, Martin Hind.
The work is part of a nationwide survey conducted by the National Museum of Scotland. As part of the survey the children learned how to measure and identify the trees in the village.
They also found out about the effects that Dutch Elm disease has had on the Elm population across the country. The children therefore were delighted to discover as part of their survey, two healthy Elm trees right outside their school.
